Stuffies-adorable last minute Christimas gifts
Sewing for Christmas has always been my way of giving. And Christmas gift sewing for little ones is the best. It feels like I am giving something from my heart. Sometimes it is a labor of love and sometimes the projects come together quickly.

Glittery Mask
Need a simple Halloween costume? This glittery mask fit the bill for me last
year. With all the costumes I was making for the kids, I kind of forgot about figuring out a costume for me.

Bowling Birthday Party
This last spring we celebrated my son's 8th birthday. Since he is now officially 8 1/2 years old, I cannot procrastinate posting about his wonderfully fun party any longer. Spring in our house is always a very busy time with many family birthdays and holidays to prepare for and celebrate. And then before you know it summer arrives with more busy fun and birthdays. This year time seems to have escaped faster than before especially realizing my little baby is now 8, well 8 1/2.

Frozen Elsa Dress
The past six months in our house there has been a Frozen frenzy. My daughter has been slightly obsessed over the movie. She loves everything about the movie, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, etc. But the thing she really gravitated to is the music, specifically the "Let It Go" song. You would think everyone else in the house would be absolutely sick of hearing the song for the one billionth time. But you know what? We really aren't. Yes, after the 6th time in a row it can get a little trying, but my little one enjoys singing and performing, it is hard to bring a negative element into it. Judging from the amount of videos and spoofs on YouTube, I know we are not the only ones. I think it is safe to say that if you have a little girl between the ages of 4-12 you have seen the movie and most likely the children are slightly obsessed.

Wardrobe, a new life in my daughter's room
Growing up my parents collected antiques and so we always had really cool interesting (and not matching) furniture. This is the style I gravitate to now. It always seems odd to me that someone would go to one store and pick out a furniture set, all perfectly matching. Personally, I love furniture that has more character, life, and memories embedded in it. One of my favorite things to do when browsing flea markets and thrift stores is to imagine the possibilities a piece has and how I can make it new to me.

Thrift Store Toad Makeover
A couple weeks ago I was at my local thrift store and over heard some people making fun of this frog and teasing about who would actually buy it. I passed by and it immediately caught my eye. I giggled because I thought it was totally cool! After the women scoffed when I asked if either of them where going buy it, I scooped it up and put it in my basket and went to the check-out grinning. The pictures may not show it but this toad is quite large- it took up the whole basket. The large plaster amphibian had so much character, the funny smerk and warty texture, I knew with a little TLC, it would be a great spring addition to the yard.

Child's Chef Hat tutorial
My kids have always want to help out in the kitchen when I am baking. The chance to like the spatula or eat a couple of chocolate chips does not require coaxing, but I need help with more everyday food preparation. To inspire their help with dinner prep, I whipped up these cute chef hats. I love result. My cutie pies feel extra official while cutting up veggies like broccoli and bell peppers that they snack on as they go. Also I notice that they do not scoff at the site of green beans if they help make them. So make one of these hats for your little one and tell me what you think.

Our Handmade Tepee
For my son's 7th birthday, his big awesome present was a tepee. My husband did not want to just buy a tepee and give it him. His plan was to build a tepee. It was really a chance for the two boys in our family to do something together and create something AWESOME!!!

St. Patrick's Day Frock and Simplicity 2265 pattern review
A couple days before St. Patrick's Day I found this lovely green tone on tone Swiss dot fabric in my stash. I just had to whip up a St. Patty's Day frock for my little one. The emerald green material has great drape and texture. It was calling to me, "Hello, I have been sitting here for too long. Make something with me!" Yes, my fabric does talk to me. Doesn't yours?

Ice Skating Inspired Sweater
A couple of weeks ago in the middle of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games and after much ice skating viewing, I stopped into JoAnn's for some supplies. My daughter spotted this icy blue knit with silver sparkles and begged me to make something for her that would look like an ice skating outfit.

High Chair Makeover
In the era of disposable plastic land, I am proud to say our Peg Perego high chair has survived 3 kids (two of my kids and my best friend's youngest). Now that my third child has moved up to solids, we pulled out the tired chair. Instead of buying a new high chair- hello landfill and good bye $200- I decided to revive it with a new cover.
