Animal cupcakes

Catching up on some my fun creations, I realized I did not have a chance to share the super cute animal cakes and the strawberry parfaits from last year.  I try to keep it simple for first birthday parties, but I always love to have celebratory dessert.  Although my daughter had her own smash cake, her first experience with real sweets.

Light and Creamy Almond Cream Cheese Frosting

"Sew-Dreamy" Button Cake

Chocolate Ganache Crepe Cake with Strawberries

This is how I say "Happy Birthday" to my hubby- luscious layers of chocolate ganache and sliced strawberries in between layers of light fluffy crepes. This truly decadent cake was a hit at my husband's birthday dinner.

Pirouette Cookie Chocolate Cake with Strawberries

This weekend some friends and I celebrated a dear friend's birthday.  It was so nice to get out for a couple hours and to be around friends without kids under foot or even in the next room.  I really got to relax and have some uninterrupted conversation.  Over dinner, a friend mentioned how cake decorating looks really complicated.  I wanted to share the Pirouette Cookie Cake to show that a cake can be fun and decorated without a lot of fuss.
